North Carolina will provide people with, or at risk of, mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse problems and their families the necessary, prevention, intervention, treatment, services and supports they need to live successfully in communities of their choice.

There is no cost for the initial call, screening, or referral to a provider of services. In many cases, any later costs may be covered by Medicaid, Medicare, or the State of North Carolina. North Carolina Health Choice (NCHC) for Children is a free or reduced price comprehensive health care program for children. If your family makes too much money to qualify for Medicaid but too little to afford rising health insurance premiums, your child(ren) may qualify for NCHC.

Tricare family members can obtain 8 outpatient sessions without prior authorization. Contact Peace of Mind, Inc. directly, or notify Tricare that you wish to receive therapy with one of our providers.

Each military personnel and family member is eligible for twelve confidential sessions through Ceridian’s Military OneSource, a company awarded funding by Department of Defense, and completely separate from Tricare. Consumers can utilize Military OneSource sessions and then continue on under Tricare with the same provider if they choose.

Many employers contract with EAP providers to offer staff 1-12 free and confidential sessions. The phone number may be listed on your insurance benefit card or you can obtain the phone number from your employer.
